Direct Source Hostas is the result of Jerry's passion with hostas. In 1981 Jerry's mother thought it would be a good idea for him to have a summer job. (Thanks Mom!) So at the ripe old age of 10 years old, I set out to make my claim by weeding perennials! A few years later, my brother Peter and I began roadside sales of assorted flowers. Eventually V&V Nursery (retail garden center) was formed. After college, we both continued in the horticulture industry. I worked for 8 years at Walters Gardens Inc as Field Inventory Manager ... overseeing 900+ acres of perennial production. Pete currently owns/operates V&V Nursery Retail Garden Center locations in Michigan. I now devote all my time to Direct Source Hostas.
Direct Source Hostas shares over 20 years of experience growing/selling hostas with you. 2008 marks our 8th year selling online! We are committed to bringing you some of the newest and unique hostas available today. We offer all of our hostas in 4" x 5" deep pots. As a commercial grower we feel a potted hosta offers many benefits to you as a consumer. These include: Planting when you have the time to do so such as a weekend, not immediately upon arrival of your plants. Second, it really allows for a natural transplant since there is no transplant shock as you will experience with bare-root plants.
